Enjoy the August Bank Holiday with action in the quarry as the loading and shunting operation takes place under expert hands as our volunteers demonstrate their heritage skills. As the wagons are loaded, they are coupled ready to dispatch to the mainline and our face shovel rumbles away at the task in hand. Our passenger service will be steam hauled and visitors can either take a ride along the line or alternatively you can follow a leisurely walk along our nature trail to explore the Rutland countryside and the remains of the Oakham Canal. A warm reception awaits in our café, our exhibits will be on display in the workshop and loco yard and our friendly volunteers are always ready to answer questions or point out features you may not have noticed. We look forward to seeing you and your family for a great day out.
